Lost iPhone
Lost iPhone
Alright fellas,
Lost my iPhone last night, I'm so gutted.
Kept ringing out, when I tried it, I text it pleading with anyone who found/has it to let me now but nothing. I've contacted 3 who have now put a block on it and I've contacted the local police who've taken the IMEI number so they can contact us if they find it and we're going to contact our insurance company on Monday as it should be covered on home contents (but I'll have to pay the first £150 I think, if they even accept the claim that is!).
Just wondering if anyones got any tips as to what to do next? Didn't have any tracking apps installed unfortunately! With all the data on their they could find out a hell of a lot about me

Re: Lost iPhone
Nightmare. If it's blocked I guess you can no longer ring it? Hopefully someone altrustic has found it and will hand it in.
Re: Lost iPhone
Yep bit of a silly move but probably best that nobody can use it maliciously.
The only way I'll get it back is if someone handed it into the police or the bars we were at that I've left my number with.
Doubt they'll hand it in, brand new iphone is worth a few bob and we all know scousers.
End of the day its just a phone I'm lucky it wasn't worse, just hate not knowing what happened.

Yeah, it's a bit of a Catch 22 with blocking it, but you had no choice really. I know it's pretty unlikely for someone to hand it in these days but there are still a few decent people about so you never know.

Re: Lost iPhone
Try not to let it ruin your christmas , its just a phone at the end of the day and as soon as the person who has it realises they cant do anything with it they will either try to sell it , throw it or hand it in . i really doubt they will even think of going through the phone to find out details about you .
Re: Lost iPhone
once the imei number is blocked, the phone is useless to them. I was asked last year to see if it was possible to bypass the imei and it isnt on the IOS past 2.0.
Sorry to hear about it m8 and the best you can hope for it that the insurance covers it.

Aye cheers lads.
Dust has settled and I'm not getting the handset back, think the house contents insurance is covering it in the main so £150 excess will get me a new one, which, in the context, isn't so bad.
Anyone got any specialist "phone insurance" tips for when I get the new one?

Re: Lost iPhone
Well I used the insurance that was apart of my nat west advantage gold account but shopping around will be able to get you a good deal.

Re: Lost iPhone
How about chaining it to yourself? Or an even better idea would be to attach a couple of straps and wear it as a watch!
