I haven't got multi-room, but I don't think they will hassle you if you take out the phone line.

Yeah Ron, they definatly have to be connected to phone lines. My bro didnt have his plugged in and they kept sending us letters saying we'd have to pay 2 full subscriptions unless we sorted it out.

I used to take my phone line out and didn't get any letters. I did put it in periodically though to pay for Prem Plus. I think under the contract you are supposed to keep the phone line connected for 12 months.

We only put ours in when we're ordering a game on prem plus, apart from that, we never bother.

I have a couple of these 'magic eye' contraptions in my house. Means you can watch sky in all your rooms in the house and flick channels etc. Not quite the same as multi room but it does me fine and they cost about £6 each I think.

yeah i got a similar device to sky, can change chanells and everything but obviously depends what you want it for as you have to watch the same channel in both rooms, guess if your in a family its not so good.

on a side note, u dont need to be connected to a phone line, i aint at the min and never have! it dont effect the channels etc and upgrades! they probs say u have to have your phone line connected as obviously it benefits them, god knows what they use it for that we dont know about but im sure they gather data on peoples tv usages.

they said it has to be connected for multiroom to function properly , this was confirmed by an engineer who popped into where i work . Chris , can you please try unlugging the phone socket in one of your EXTRA boxes and then tell be if it still functions properly .

i already have a magic eye , but as you said is not quite the same as you have to watch the same channel on both sets
